Sunday night Corrie is axed
ITV is to pull its William Ashley Sunday night sequence of 'Coronation Street' as persona of a canal revamp to cause weekends a soap-free zone.
The half-hour demonstrate will now move to 8.30pm on Fridays, with 'Emmerdale' besides being ditched from Sunday nights. Viewing audience will get an hour-long instalment on Tuesdays instead.The changes ar part of the station's new Look 2008 schedule.
St. Simon Shaps, ITV's Manager of Telecasting, said: "We've responded to viewer feedback on 'Coronation Street' and 'Emmerdale' so that fans can overhear up with their deary soaps over fewer nights.
"One of the corpus ideas behind these changes is to form the weekends on ITV1 experience special.
"We have constantly been the home of Sabbatum night entertainment and we want to broaden that out to draw the whole weekend on ITV1 something to look onward to.
"This has meant a wholesale spring clean for Fri nights with freshly comedy, play and feature films to get the weekend started, and a much fresher front to William Ashley Sunday evenings with entertainment shaking up the historically drama-led schedule."
